Repointing An Old Foundation
Should we try to attempt to repoint a granite block foundation circa 1890 or hire out to a mason? Is this difficult if we have never attempted this before? Someone mentioned hydraulic cement. Are there any tricks, suggestions for working with this...how to apply, things to watch out for? Home Inspector said it needed to be repointed. There is some water seepage and obvious gaps in the basement walls. We will also be addressing other aspects affecting the seepage such as the gutters.
