I am looking at a house, but the carpet smells of dog urine. Does anyone recomend something that they have used to remove dog urine smell?

Take a blacklight to find out where the pet went to the bathroom on the carpet (it will show up a lighter shade of the carpet).

Then replace the padding that is underneath of that carpet (The smell will always come out on rainy days).

    Clean the carpet.

Then use one of these Aranizer units and you will never have a problem again.

We have done this many, many times to some of our units that do not warrant a total carpet changeout.

Best suggestion is to get rid of it. Dog urine I found is very difficult to completly remove.

yeah, replace that part of the padding and carpet, then on the underlying floor i just sprinkled a rather heavy dose of Arm 'n Hammer baking soda and voila!

I heard that "Odor Xit" works well. Now that I have shared that, I unfortunately don't know where to tell you to get it, sorry!

it can soak the sub floor and can be a real problem. it depends on how much urine has been on the floor . i found a real deal on a house with this problem. i passed on this deal. if its has partical board anywhere it can be impossible to remove. ggod luck. kenmax[ Edited by kenmax on Date 12/28/2003 ]
