Does anyone here know a lawyer in California, preferably Bay Area that can put together land trust documents?

Any lawyer who has a probate or wills & estates practice is very familiar with forming trusts.

If you'll call one or two of the bigger law firms and tell them you'd like to speak to one of their lawyers who handles wills & probate, you'll soon find yourself talking to a lawyer who understands trusts very well.

As I've said about a thousand times, forget the "land" trust moniker...a trust is a trust is a trust. And no such thing as a separate category for "land trusts".

Doesn't much matter what its assets are, whether RE, stocks or bonds, old cars, etc.

The really important things are who the trustee is going to be, who the beneficiaries are going to be, where the trust is going to get its property, when the trust is going to go into effect (now or when you die?).

If you're wanting to create a trust in order to legally use the Fed law and be able to buy or sell RE withoutt triggering a DOS clause, tell the lawyer that's your purpose.

My main goal is not avoiding DOS but avoiding reassessment (legally), and was hoping that a land trust might do that.
