What's A Good Credit Score For REI?

lauralee profile photo

I ran a credit check on myself and my score is 864. I know it said it was good, but do I need to try to improve it? I did have one late payment shown for a credit card. How long before that clears off the report? Thanks!

I think that's about the best score you can have. Although I thought FICO scores were based on a scale of 300-850, looks like you've got top-notch credit.

You don't need a credit score to invest

864 is fantastic! Get good deals while you can on these low interset rates. Just remember that the additional properties will raise your debt to income ratio lowering your overall score. Conventional lending is not the only way to invest. The Creative Investor is more than just a catchy webs ite address.

Do a good deal through a bank, owner financing or other. Find your niche and you will be successful.

    lauralee,

To answer your question; your credit score is great and you do not need to make it better to get the best rates. if I was in your shoes, I would concentrate on finding properties in which I can invest my dear investor's money [OPM] >

    Good luck!

Hey, lighten up. The original post is an honest question. I'm somewhat new to this sight, but from all the fourms that I have been reading, many that post have scores of 580 up to 864 and they all say that they invest in real estate, or others that post their replys say that there are many creative ways even with a low score. I am fortunate to be on the upper side of the scoring and only care about my score when it comes to getting a good rate!

Lauralee, remember the old saying..."if you got it flaunt it" Go for it and good luck, make $$$$
