Locating Vacant Property Owners

gmaxx profile photo

I have identified a boarded up vacant property in a good neighborhood in my area. Can any one provide me with information and or sources on how to locate vacant property owners to discuss the sale of distress vacant property? Oh! and sample letters that any one may have to send to the owners I could take a look at would be great.

    gmaxx,

I'm sure the other property owners in the neighborhood would love for you to come in, fix up the property, contibute to the asthetics of the neighborhood and so on. Try knocking on the neighbors doors and tell them you're interested in buying the house and making it look nice again which will positively effect their property values and ask them if they know how to get a hold of the owner.

Should you have no luck and you are a serious investor treating it as a business, you may want to try a apid subscription to http://www.dataquick.com for your investing research.

Last resort may be to hire a good skip tracer. Good Luck.

    Dave

The first thing I would do is go to the recorders office and find out who the owner of the property is. Then I would ask where the tax bill is being sent if the owner is an individual see if the address is different if it is, contact them and see if they are interested in selling.

    Good Luck! grin
