How To Understand A Deed?

Sourcefinance profile photo

I went to the register of deeds, and the lady there was so helpful to me. She showed me exactly what I needed to do to find deeds.
I'm a bit confused about how I should contact after finding the deed with the contact information.
Here is my question, Am I supposed to contact the grantor or the grantee? Does it mater if the grantor is a company or should they be a human person?

Do not know why you want to contact either party but the grantor sold the property and the grantee is the buyer. If you are able to contact the company that would be OK or you may find the person signing for the company easier. Some investors hide all their info so they are hard to find.

    Good LUCK and Thank You
    Hope this helps some

Well then whats the purpose of going to the county register of deeds then?
I thought that this was how you find out who to mail post cards and letters to for the purpose of initiating a Subject to deal with them.

If you want to find out who to mail your flyers, letters to, just look up the tax record. What address do the tax bills go to? Our county has it online with the property appraiser.
Looking up deeds is a time consuming way to do it, and you may not have a current address with it.
    Good luck

If you plan to mail out many postcards, you're wasting your time at the courthouse. Try this www.Sitex.com Sign up, we (John's students) get a good discount. Cost-$99/mo. for about 600 names/addresses which you can plug righ into the USPS website and do direct mail. PM me if you have more ?'s. Or go to John's website for which you are a member and search the topic. You'll find a plethera of info about this topic there.
If you are not a JCL student, why not?
