Bankruptcy

I have been trying a short with Countrywide. I know probably chasing the wind. Conversations have been pleasant.. up until they informed me that my seller filed for Chapter 7 last November and it has not been discharged yet. I called her about this and she claims that the house was not part of the bankruptcy judgement. Called Countrywide back and they said that is well and good.. but they still cannot deal with the Short because the Bankruptcy has not been discharged. Any ideas?

I did ask. They did tell. I got more info frin the seller tonight. The bankruptcy was filed 7/04 and was discharged 9/04. I have a copy of the discharge. However, the file is still open in the Trustees office due to a still pending settlement from a Partnership which is being dissolved in another Federal case. I looked through the Bankruptcy papers and the house was not included in the Chapter 7 bankruptcy. So, I am now going to fax the Discharge to Work Out Dept. and see if they will proceed, even though the file is still open with the Trustee.
