Which Comes First

I just purchased a property out of state and need to have utilities turned on. The problem is that there are no meters, they have either been stolen or removed legitimately. I contacted the utility company and in order for them to put in meters and restore service I need to have an electrical inspection by the city.

Here is the question: Should I have an electrician visit the property and give it a once-over before the inspector comes to insure that the property will pass?... or do I wait for the inspector to come and tell me what if anything needs to be done?

:-? I am not sure if an electrician can tell much about the property without the meters :-?

I would like to visit the property as soon as possible and need to get this all worked out in the shortest amount of time. I appreciate any recommendations that you might be able to provide.

Find an electrician who has a generator he can hook up to the electrical box and test the system. Then if he finds something wrong have him repair it before calling the inspector.

Thank you very much. Now it seems like a more stupid question than it did before... A generator, What a concept?!

    Thanks LOL
