Real Estate Investing Rolodex

Try to get yourself set up now in such a way so that you do not have to leave and go to the court house.

Try and do everything over the phone. You'll save so much time, and still get the same results maybe even better results by using the phone.

You'll want to have a rolodex with all the numbers and names of the city hall departments you come across.

What I did years ago to help me when I came across a new department or number is, I would write on the back of the card what the question is I would need to ask every time I called that department. Over time I never had to look at the back of the card.

Examples... I would ask...

Auditors Office: I need to check ownership of a piece of property. (I give the address they give the owner name, etc.)

Auditors Office: I need to check a name for ownership. (I give a name, they give listings of properties the name owns.)

Liens Dept.: I need to get a listing of liens on this address. (I give address they tell the liens.)

Local Library: Ask for the Referance Dept. (at referance dept ask) I need to criss cross an address (I give address they give name and number of who lives there and neighbors names and phone numbers.)

Local Library: Ask for the Referance Dept. (at referance dept ask) I need to criss cross a phone number. (I give phone number they tell who listed to and what address.)

These are just a few things to have in your rolodex to make your skip tracing (hunting) easier when trying to find owners of homes that are vacant.

Good advice. Can you provide more pointers for getting a list of Notice of Defaults?
