    Dear Sir or Madam.

No we do not record the note, you will notice that it is not notarized. A requirement for recordation.

In the body of the Deed of Trust or Mortgage, please insert in the appropriate spot the beginning amount of the note. That is all the rest is a big secret between you and the borrower.

Why do we not record the note? An excellent question. Because we do not want everybody including snoops like Lucius Foster knowing our business and besides, sometimes the Recorder of Deeds is sloppy or deep in his cups and he will tear or mutilate the note.

Notes do not like this and neither should you.

    Sincerely Lucius
