Credit Freezes Are Now Free
effect in September, Equifax, Experian, and Transunion must set up a web page for requesting fraud alerts and credit freezes. The FTC will also post links to those websites like identitytheft.gov.
As an added bonus if you are in the military, there's extra. Within a year, credit reporting agencies will offer free electronic credit monitoring to all active duty military personell.
