I Think I Found A Mentor

I've been trying to contact my local
REI club, which is really a landlord association, but haven't had any luck. I got tired of waiting for a response. So, I started calling ads in the real estate wanted section of the paper. I figured I had to be able to find an investor who would be willing to work with me. Out of all the ads I called only one investor had a voice mail box, or even an answering machine. Anyway, he called me back and we spoke for like an hour. I told him I was interested in doing some bird dogging and I also needed a mentor. He seemed more than happy to work with me. He said he would give me $1,000 for every deal I find him and that after I learn some techniques from him we could start partnering.
I have to meet him next week is there anything I sould be looking to ask him? Should I sighn some kind of agreement with him?

The answer to all your questions can be found in John Lockes birddog ebook.
If you can afford it go to the top of this site and click on the tab marked " shop" then search by author.

There is a sample copy of a contract that should work for you.
    It's a good read for 48 bucks.
This is exactly how I got started and now work with two investors.

Mostly I just listened and found out what they were looking for but the ebook will help prepare you for your first meeting.

    Good Luck.

Damn, I'm poor. I don't even have $48 right now. I've got just about enough money to get back and forth to the old ****Must Reach Freshman Investor status before posting URL's***.B.

Keep on going, don't give up. Chances are your mentor has some sort of contract for you to sign. Once you do your first deal you will have enough $$$ to purchase some books.
    Good luck

Send me a pm and let me know best time to reach you with phone contact.
I'll be glad to let you know what I'm doing as a bird dog.
