Absentee Owners

I having a heck of a time finding absentee owners. I have found my county tax collectors website, and it does have information that I can use, but I can't filter the search...so I go through one by one. Very slow, is there a way to generate a list fast (and affordable)? If so where can I go to do this?

Most County Appraisal District (CAD) sites will not have a easy way for you to be able to sort listings based on absentee criteria.

There two ways you can get this sort of information:

    1. Work with a local realtor and have him/her search through the MLS for you. but then again not all MLS systems are setup the same so some due provide this information and some don't. talk to a realtor and see if they will work with you.

    2. There are companies out there that provide this sort of information as well as comps, property detail reports, deed records, and many other reports as a monthly subscription basis per county. With these companies you can export the data in .csv format create lables. Look at www.realquest.com or www.sitexdata.com.

Once one gets this list, what is the best marketing direction to go?

  • LarryTX1st March, 2004

That is sort of a loaded Q's to ask...

If you do not know what to do with the data then you really need to spend some more time learning about marketing before you procede forward.

Buy a course Scott Rister's is a good one to start with or search the archives under the Marketing Forum for Absentee Owners.

    LarryTX,

Thanks. I am doing it now. Pretty good information. Scott's course... hadn't purchased it yet, but you are the second person to suggest that.

    I appreciate your direction.

You may also try calling your county tax assesor to see if they offer this info for sale.

Another option is to see if a title company can provide this info to you.
