I am very new to this and have a question. It may be a no-brainer to most of you but if I don't ask, I will never know. My county in Florida has monthly tax deed sales. They post them on the internet once that have sent all their notices out. The question: Is is acceptable and proper to get in touch with the property owner, redeem their taxes subject to the title on the property?
Of course, I would be doing a title search on the property before making the offer.
Am I way off here or is this practiced all the time?
I appreciate all your assistance and respect your knowledge. We all need to start somewhere!

You could do that but the question is why? You could just as easily go to the auction and get the house for the taxes owed. The only advantage would be a refinance with them, if you were into high interest loans, with non paying clients, in hopes of foreclosing later. But that being said it would be more profitable to just go to the auction. Unless you are trying an angle I am not familiar with , which is possible I guess. Just my opinion.

    Good Luck,
    Kyle
