A Comprehensive Book On Tax Lien Investing?

jtaxlien profile photo

Hi people,

Can anyone suggest me a comprehensive book on Tax Lien Investing as a starting point?? .. I am confused with a lot of info out there on the web. As per some posts here, i feel John Beck and others are not good. They are mere rip-offs.

Please advise. Thx
Jay

Attend a few local sales.... but leave your checkbook at home.

The laws and customs differ from state to state.

For example, in NJ, muni tax liens are exposed for auction. The Homeowner has up to 2 years to redeem the lien. If the lien isn't redeemed, the lienholder can initiate foreclosure.

Most liens are redeemed within the redemption period.

Some state have tax sales.... circumventing the lien certificate step.

So, attend and www.observe.Then, go out and buy the 16% Solution (Moskowitz) or a local market book for your jursidiction.

I think that you are completely wrong about John Beck's "Free and Clear" being a "rip-off." IT is a fairly-priced, very extensive program, in my view.

It is not perfect. The writing is a little hard for a beginner. The organization is not too good. However, for the price, you receive information on the tax sales laws for every state of the union, territories and possessions, and the Canadian provinces.

Every educationa item you get will have limitations. However, for the money, the John Beck material is massive. I have read no other material on tax sales that I can recommend any higher.

If you are interested in tax liien investing, "The 16% Soluntion" is a pretty good beginning. It is getting dated. But it is low cost.
