How To Remove Wallpaper From The Ceiling?
One of the two properties we have purchased is a 1925 bungelow with wallpaper on both of the bedrooms ceilings.
What is the fastest, safest and easiest way to remove it?!?

I agree with Monkfish. We have used a steamer that we rented from the local hardware store before. It gets hot in the room and heavy holding the thing, but works great if you have the stamina. Rocking would be the easiest way. What are you going to do with the ceiling when you get the paper off? You might take that into consideration too.
thanks for the replies...we ended up dry stripping the ceiling got most of the paper off then sprayed water on the remainer and it just peeled away...
Much easier than the walls beleive it or not they were a nightmare!

Wallpaper (assuming it was applied correctly) can be removed pretty well using a mixture of one part fabric softener and two parts water. Comes right off. Apply with a spray bottle.[ Edited by nyjosh on Date 07/11/2005 ]
I too have used a steamer, but I use one that the garment industry uses. It rolls around on the floor, has a long tube and the wand puts out more steam than one of those hand held ones used for wallpaper and it is much lighter. You could probably rent one of these at a rental store too, but you can buy one at Wal Mart for about 65.00. EB
Also she has a lot size that is 3x what all the neigbors have. It is more than enough to split. She tried to get it done but is short 20ft on street frontage since it is a corner lot. Now this was 2+yrs ago. If I can make the split happen that is a 300k+ lot. Is it worth investing some money into a lawyer so i can try to get a variance?
Many of the homes,especially the new ones are on .29 acre lots. This is on about 1 acre so the subdivision will be about .29 acre lot. not taking anything away from the house.
Another consideration is the time required to do the subdivision. How long will this take in your area?
