Time To Take A Road Trip

dealfinder profile photo

As so many of the other investors on this site have said that during our day to day REI business we sometimes do not have time to stop, smile, smell the cofee, or relax.

Well, I'm finally taking their advice and taking a road trip to Lost Wages with the family this weekend. Been there many times so it's not really a new experience but it is kinda fun every once in a while.

Since we all can't go on such short notice, I thought it would be a "hoot" for us to all take the trip in our minds.

Here's the question:

You've got four days in the city that never sleeps. You have paid for the trip and expenses. You have limited yourself to a maximum of $2K to "try your luck."

What would you do or "play" to try and maximize your chance of coming out on top?

Let's have fun with this and get as creative as you like.

Dave

Try calling a FSBO and see what you can make happen with 2K.

    John,

Very good but I was hoping to get our minds out of REI for a moment.

That is about the surest bet you'd get in Vegas, though.

    Thanks for playing!!

    dealfinder,

Seems we are crossing paths today on the board, so have spent the better part of 40 years in Las Vegas and having been involved in the casino industry here is your best shot.

Every game has what they call the PC or percentage of hold, for instance, every dollar that is played on a Black Jack table the house wins 18% on the average year in and year out, so 18 cents out of every dollar goes to the house.

The best odds in the casino is the crap ("dice" for those that maybe offended) table, the PC is 12% so these are your best odds at winning. However, you need to know how to play, so take a Free class on how to play that most of the casinos offer.

Keno is 36% and what they call the Big Wheel, just give them your money and asked for a comp. A comp in Las Vegas means complimentary, in other words when you lose money the house will give you a (comp) FREE drink.

John LV (the LV stands for Las Vegas) and I go way back and he has a Video Poker Machine system, that if he would release it to the general public would sell millions of copies, so I doubt heavily he would post it on this board.

His system is so famous in Las Vegas one of the casinos named a hotel wing after him.

    John,

Thanks for the update of percentages of the different play. As I said, I'm not a newbie to Vegas but you definitely have it down more than I do.

You amaze me John. How many lifetimes have you lived? You have been a car man, in the casino business, and now a very successful investor.

Maybe I should follow your lead. I'm thinking you got your REI seed money in Vegas! LOL.

    Thanks,
    Dave
