Has anyone here read Donald Trump's new book? Is it any good? Does it have any value to REI?

Thanks,

Robert

I've read his older book written in the late 80s if I recall and I think it is an excellent read.

    myfrogger,

Thanks. I was thinking about picking up his audio book to listen to. I think now I'll give it a try.

His older books give a history of what he has done in real estate. I beleive they are more inspirational than informative.

The lastest book is mini chapter of a few pages. Again, they are more inspirational, or pieces of generic advise/wisdom.

I love The Donald, but you may learn more about real estate on this website than from his books.

    64Ford,

Thanks. I'll keep that in mind. Inspiration is good too. I was hoping just to hear about some creative deals he may have done to help me learn to think outside the box.

    Robertt,

I tend to agree with 64Ford that even the new Donald book is more inspirational than informative. Although I think he speaks to relationship building if you read between thee lines. It is a good read in my opinion.

    Hello,

The current Trump book is... well... trash. I firmly believe a REI will get more from reading this Webpage than from that book.

    Thanks,

    OTW

I found the book interesting and an easy read as it is mainly anecdotal. NOt a lot of meat there but it was a good way to spend time on a train while travelling.

I just got done reading it as well. Always fun to see what his day to day dealings are. He had that in his older book and also put it in this book. I believe the older book had more deals and that. This one is more on principals and crap.. One chapter tells you to learn how to play golf. Anywho, fast read, doesnt hurt to read it.

I thought it was a good book for an aspiring leader or manager, although there are much better books for that (Welch, Guiliani, etc), not much real estate meat there as others have mentioned.

I personally think that his older bookes "The Art Of The Deal" and "The Art Of The Comeback" are very good, they both give you much more insight into his real estate deals then his new book. I would especially recomend "The art of the deal" his first book. with all the hype these days with his T.V. show his older books have been winding up on bookshelves at boarders and barnes&noble for like 5 dollars, which is a deal in my opinion.

also take the time to read his new book, i like the chapter on changing your "altitude" not "attitude" i find his insight to golfing interesting, a game i personally love. goodluck.

DT used his most recent book as a way to ingratiate people he likes and trash anyone he doesn't like. He dishes out a lot of cheap shots in it, which left me with a bad taste.

I also read "The Art of the Deal," and it was much better.
