My sister and her husband built a golf course in Palmer, Alaska. It is very popular in the winter- they get intense local winds that blow three or four holes clear of snow. Golfers come out from Anchorage (60 miles) to hit some balls- the only place they can in Alaska in the winter outdoors.
Golfers are crazy. I should know- her whole family golfs, and they are all golf crazy!
