Warranty Deed

I need to add my wife to our Property Deed. I was told a Warranty Deed form needed to be completed. What are the steps to get the form and complete the transaction?

    I did this recently
    The title co really took care of it because they forgot to add me to title of property at closing and I did not pick up on it til later when we decided to sell the place we bought[at a profit of course]
    They had my husband and I sign a quit claim deed FROM both of us TO both of us
    We sold right after that so I don't think I got any other deed back . I'm looking at the quit claim right now but I don't see another after the quit claim

    Deeds being normally prepared by a lawyer, you might not quickly find a blank quit claim deed form to use.

    If you can't find it quickly, talk to a local title co. and see what they'd charge you to "close" and handle the transaction, and prepare the right QCD form for you.

    Title co's do this all the time so they have the necessary forms...sometimes they'll give you a blank form, for your self use...but if you're not knowledgeable about how to use it, have the title co. or a lawyer do it for you.

    Try office depot for a quit claim deed. You as Grantor will convey to you and your wife as Grantee If it is your homstead property then reference *Subject property is grantors homestead* Convey the property for $100.00 One hundered dollars, this number need not be accurate but shows consideration. Last but not least have a witness sign and print their name and a notery sign, stamp off and witness. Hope this works, oh and run down record and pay for a certified copy.

    LynLinz and John Merchant are absolutely correct.

    This is a very simple thing to do. A title company can easily and correctly do this for you, if you don’t have the experience in completing deeds.

    You can Warranty deed the property from Husband (Grantor) to Husband and Wife (Grantee) with rights of survivorship.

    My registrar of deeds gives me a copy of any type of deed I ask for at no charge. You may want to check with them as to which deed to use. I would say you can use a quick claim deed, but I'm not an expert.
