Question Of Legality...

sickdog profile photo

I tried to find the answer to this over in the foreclosure forum. but no luck....
Are their any laws against an invester, or private individual making contact with someone in pre-foreclosure? Foreclosure? I thought I read somewhere here on TCI of someone getting in trouble for contacting a potential seller during the proceedings. Maybe I mis-read or was it bankruptcy or something else? Any ideas?
Thanks,

No laws I'jm familiar with...except no creditor can contact or harrass a debtor if & after the debtor files a BK petition.

Even if you were'nt a creditor when you talked to the debtor, it would be a waste of your time because once the debtor files, it's probably out of his hands and he's no longer the decision maker.
