I was wondering if anyone knows the time frame it takes to obtain LLC status. We plan to write an offer soon and want this legal portion done prior to doing so.

The actual formation is fast, like w/ in a week or so.
There is the issue of bank accounts, EIN, operating agreement, capitalizing the LLC, etc. that can take a little more time.
You'll have to decide if you want to use an atty or not. Personally I did.
Also, confirm that a LLC is the best structure for what you're trying to accomplish.
