What If You Can't Locate Owner Of Pre Foreclosure? Can I Buy The Note?

LynLinz profile photo
I find after much research that I probably won't be finding the owner unless the attorney handling the case will tell me Should I ask? Also the house is a wreck needs new roof , update electrical for sure can't get inside but have heard from neighbor how bad it was 2 yrs ago. We think it is vacant but not entirely also believe that wife killed husband in house Anyway I want to know about buying the note for a short sale since I can't find owner. I have mortgage info, but how can I make a case for the bank when I can't get inside tot ake pics and estimate repairs?? :wow:

You can certainly make an offer to purchase the mortgage. If there was a killing, there might be some unresolved legalities and the estate, so to foreclose might be problematic.

I can see of no honest way to gain access to the house.

    Thanks ShortSalePro,

Good point about the estate part although I know it is going to be Lis Pendens on Thurs

I think this means they will set a date for foreclosure sale?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you're in Jupiter, so is the property in Palm Beach County? And if so, if you'd send me a pvt msg I could try to look up the owners for you, or who may be considered as handling the estate.

But it sounds like you're looking at a sale within 30 days to 60. In Delaware (Where I am), once there's a default, the mortgage company usually has it up for forc sale within 90 days, with no right of redemption. I'm not sure if that's the case there.

Have you tried looking up the last name and finding relatives? If anyone knows, it would be family...if she killed him in the house...did you check the county jail? j/k
