Helping Homeowner Get Proceeds After Tax Sale
I talked to a gentleman that did alot of business buying properties at auction but has since spent most of his time helping homeowners that had their homes sold for not paying prop tax by helping them claim surplus funds(the difference between the sale amount and the debt on the prop. How about that for a run-on sentence. Can anyone point me to a resource that would allow me to learn the ins and outs of this practice. Thank you.
Contact local RE Attorneys to learn the procedures for this in your area. Perhaps you could use one of the attorneys you talk to in the future. What you would basically be doing is approaching homeowners who may be owed money without knowing it, and offering to help them recover the funds for a fee.
