Private Message System Improvements
I'm relatively new to this board and have just recently begun to accumulate a few private messages. I find the private mesasage forum to lack some critical features.
1) What did I write? Unless the member to whom I'm writing includes my original message in his reply I have no record of what I specifically wrote. I don't have a good memory for the details I write and find it difficult to kepp track if I'm posting to multiple users in a short timeframe. With an email system you have a 'Sent Items' folder that allows you to browse all outgoing messages. Something filling the same role would be very helpful.
2) It can be difficult to manage multiple conversations with the same user. When this happens I find myself searching through all the user's replys looking for posts on the relevant topic. I think it would help to manage each topic as a message string.....
May I suggest that private messages be handled just like other forums on the board? This way we could keep track of the whole message string between parties. Maybe even open the conversation to more than 2 individuals to create a sort of 'mini-forum.' This would also be easy to navigate as the format is farmiliar to all members and is one of the best features of this site!
I don't find this to be a problem at all. Most of the people who PM click "Reply to this Private Message" and the original post gets quoted.
I agree. you do have to do some searching. i print some out because not only that but they will all be gone on the first of every month. they get automaticaly deleted by the system

The same is the problem with email but as Joel sad, using reply button is all it takes for tread of the communication not to be lost.
