Case Studies Anyone?

I have been reading the stuff going on in TCI and definitely pained to see the bad blood going www.on.Maybe that can also be a good learning experience for all the people on www.here.The experienced and newbies and the inbetweens alike!.

So here is what I thought might be an idea worth exploring?'
How about a case study forum or threads dedicated exclusively to that with actual numbers and how they did it complete with the address so that people can cross check to see if they are fluffing or telling the truth?
More than that it will be a good example and also the other experienced investors to critique it and say how possibly it could be done or not www.done.I mean the case study can be both a success or failure loosely speaking?and end of say a few months we will be having a rich archive of sound examples of how to do the business.

Like I said in the beginning of the post,I love this site for the great advice we all www.get.Maybe we can chanellize the on going discussions on this way?

just a thought and I hope there is constructive criticism for my idea or perhaps if its hairbrained...lol..hit me with it

I see where you want to go with this one, but it has more pitfalls than anything. A common example is the conflict in resources. This site says that and that site says this. This is going on right now. Also, the forum would be breeding grounds for board hustler's. If someone posts all the deals they did and started talking about how much money they made, people would get excited and get hustled because you'll be lured in by the money making and get took for your money to "learn the system".

If you have a question about a deal and need help with it, fine, post the numbers and the problems and I'm sure someone would help. But talking about what already took place and seeing how you could have made it better or worse serves no purpose. It's all woulda, coulda, shoulda, stuff. Learn from the mistakes made and not what we could have done.

Tons and tons of courses have sweet short and to the point case studies in them. What isn't told is all the behind the scenes work. Hell, that’s why the course is sold in the first place.

I do like to see how people did deals from start to finish. I think 95% of the time people here have no reason to make up stories about their deals.

It woiuld be good for people to be able see a number LO's, sub. to's, shorts, etc as well as the more creative deals that put together. I like the idea, but think that it would be more effective as a number of articles by respected TCI members. Any takers???[ Edited by hibby76 on Date 02/20/2004 ]

I like the article Idea better. Maybe quarterly people could submit their deals to joel and he, or someone else because the guy has so much going on, could sift through the deals and they could be posted in a weekly article.

I still think the names should be deleted if your going to post "case studies" and people can ask questions from there.

I just see trouble ahead with all the I did, I did, I did.

I guess there's always one in every crowd. I'm
for eliminating some of the forums rather than adding new ones. By cuttting down on the number of forums, I think that there would be less duplication and more concentrated, indepth discussions.. Example: does there need to be a Foreclosure and a Short Sale forum? What about a "Guru" forum rather tthan LeGrand/Sheets forums. I know. I know. Just a lone cry in the desert.

""" lone cry in the desert""ahh..OPPS..""
I just did what sammyvegas is "talking" about. I did't scroll all the way "thru" and I posted a "forum for "~Beginners~"..so ..
mcldavid says.."For me ..If all the "egos" can be left on "the keyboards" and NO NAMES are used "we " can all learn~~
