Is It OK To Contact Seller/go Around Listing Agent?

Hello!
Is it OK for us investors to directly contact (by phone, for example) the sellers of properties? I am dealing with a young and inexperienced listing agent who wasn't able to answer several of my questions regarding the property I'd like to buy. Thanks, in advance...

    Hey,

You can do it, but you will not be making any friends out of the agent. The agent will still get a commission and still represents the seller.

It sounds like you have an excellent opportunity to begin training a real estate agent. You could develop this agent into a great asset to you, if you are willing to spend the time.

Yeah, well its as likely to blow up as it is to work. See if you can set up a meeting with the seller with the agent present to ask your question. Or find a more experienced agent to represent you so the young guy does't feel intimidated.

I'd also opt for setting up a meeting with the seller and having the listing agent present. Then the agent won't feel you're trying to do an end run around him, and you get the opportunity not only to get your questions answered, but also for a face to face with the seller.
