Buying A Wholesale Property - Inspecting/ Estimating Repairs

velin profile photo

I am considering buying a wholesale property (a brick townhouse, 1950s). I am trying to estimate how much i would have to spend to repair that property in the worst case.

1. There was some water in the basement . The basement is unfinished now but i am planning on adding another bedroom there. Could wet basement be something hard/expensive to fix ? What maybe causing it ?

2. How much replacing pluming would cost ?

3. How much replacing heater would cost ?

4. How much electrical wiring would cost ?

thanks

Tori

I don't mean to be rude, but you will be hard pressed to be get concrete answers with the lack of info you provided. For starters, what is the size of the house. In order to calculate the plumbing costs, you should first explain what exactly you want to do. The water issue could be a hundred different scenarios. Your electrical cost all depends on what exactly you want accomplished. I'm sure if you supplied the group with more info you would be able to get advice, but I would suggest having a GC come out and write up an estimate. You can then take those numbers and cross reference them with questions on the site.
