NEED bird Dog tips????

I was wonder if someone could give me a few more pointers. I have John's book, just looking for your own ideas that worked. I'm starting with postcards. Do I send them to my whole farm area, or do I have to go downtown to cook county records to get NODs? I will be passing out bus cards to all local businesses in the area. What about if I have another farm area 3o minutes away. How do I track down my target area - 3 bed, 2bath, 2 car gar?
