Newbie Tax Sale Investor In Maryland

BmoreInvest profile photo

I need advice. My husband and I purchased a tax lien on a property in Baltimore, MD (Reservoir Hill) in May 2004. Within the pass week we entered our right of redemption period and decided to start foreclosure proceedings. We learned that another couple who purchased the tax lien in 2001 has submitted a final judgment on the property in the Baltimore Circuit Courts. Didn't they lose their right of redemption? Any advice is appreciated as I suspect our opportunity to challenge their claim is short.

The owner I think is the one with right of redemtion. Check the Maryland statutes. IF they got a final judgement then they owe you what you paid in I would think.

    carolrptr,

If you are interested in Real Estate investing you may want to check out Investors United School of Real Estate in Baltimore MD. Each of their classes is taught by professionals, i.e. the tax liens class is taught by someone who only does tax liens.
