Short Sale Redemption Period

Stretch361 profile photo

I had a call today from someone that has already been foreclosed upon, and is now in their 6 month redemption period. Their redemption period ends 1 month from now. Would this be something to pursue a short sale on? If we were to get a short sale on this property, would it actually clear up the foreclosure on the credit report (even though it technically has already been sold on the sheriffs steps?)

Thanks for any help on this...
Chris

If all other criteria have been met for potential short sale... it's possible to get one done inside of a month... but you've got to move quickly.

The history of late payments, foreclosure, and sheriff's sale will remain on the homeowner's credit record for many years. What has happened, has happened.
