What Do I Need To Do To Get A Good Deal From A Contractor?

My father has an old restaurant. It hasn't been used for years. The roof is flat. the type with tar and pebbles. I don't know what it's called exactly. Anyhow, it's swollen from weathering as well as swarming with wasps nests. The paint is pretty easy looking once everything else gets finished. It's litterally peeling itself off so that cuts a lot of the work out. Due to the ceiling leaks, the floor has taken a beating from moisture. As a matter of fact, it caved-in in one section. The building is about 2000 sq ft. I want to do an ad-on on the top of the building. How do I negotiate with contractors in order to get a good deal?

Just contact numerous contractors, advise them what you want and have them bid on it.

Throw out the highest and lowest bid and interview the rest.

Get license information, insurance certificates and referrals.

If you are looking for the cheapest deal out there then dont be surprised if you end up getting the shaft in the end.
