Swimming Pool Questions -

Hi everybody -
Well, I swore that I would never have a rental with a pool - and now I have 2. One of them has a problem that I'm not sure how to deal with, so I beg your expertise:

When I turn on the spigot to fill the pool, the water comes up from a joint in the cool deck - like ol' faithful surprised The one pool company that I had look at it said that the entire cool deck and coping around the pool would have to be replaced, as the coping is no longer made and the cool deck would have to be removed to get to the leaky pipe. That sounds excessive to me.

I've never owned a pool before - any ideas or info greatly appreciated.

Swimmin' in the desert,

Is the spigot a necessity? Is it possible to permanently shut it off from its source and just use a garden hose to fill the pool?

Your best bet is to have the problem fixed instead of masking it. I would have the leak fixed but as you know in order to do that you must cut up the cool deck. The other route is to totally remove the spigot and cap off the pipe behind the wall.

I prefer the leak fixing and leave the spigot. [ Edited by schallerp on Date 12/17/2003 ]
