Painting A House Exterior In Cold Weather
Due to some factors beyond my control (bank, seller) the closing date on a home I am buying is probably going to happen around Oct. 14. The house requires a new exterior paint job. Existing material is asbestos shingle.
Any tips for painting this house so late in the year? Keep in mind that I live near Buffalo, so the temperature will fluctuate from 40 - 70 degrees. Any recommendations on a good cold weather exterior paint?

painting below or near 50 degrees is risky, standard paint by any manufacturer will not perform well. sherwin williams makes a paint that you are supposed to be able too use at 37 degrees or some other cold temperature near that. talk with a SW salesperson and he can direct you. if you decide to paint with standard paint on a 60 -70 degree day remember that paint has to cure and takes time. the paint can will tell you the amount of time to cure which is different than dry to the touch time. overnight temps can destroy and ruin your work. i have seen in the past where a house that was on the market and a condition for the sale was painting the exterior, a contractor was hired to paint in the spring for the new owner at the sellers expense and was part of the closing contract something you might want to look at. good luck
First, I would pull the equity out of my own house. second, I would attend local meetings and hook up with an investor there who is interested in funding your deals.
Hard money lending companies will lend in your state.
