What are some other ways to find abandoned properties other than driving around and looking for them? Anyone have other methods that have proven successful?
I used to be a UPS driver for 10 years and worked for the post office before that. Find the area that you want to find property in and ask either the postal carrier or the UPS driver. If you can't locate the driver go to a business and ask what time the UPS driver comes by for a pick up and then you can ask him. Give him your card and tell him you'll give him $100 if he refers a property to you and you buy it.
SOme jurisdictions require vacant property to be boarded up and a permit applied for. ask at the courthouse.
