Getting Insurance On Waterfront Mobile Home
Hi can someone tell me why I am having such a hard time getting reinsured on my canal mobile home in punta gorda fl? My insurance canceled me last year after selling our home in Wi, buying a mobile home in Illinois and punta gorda,And our mail couldnt find us for 2 months and so the ins. canceled us , all these are insured but the home in PG Fl. I guess I am going to have to sell this beautiful place on the canal leading out to the Gulf of Mexico with our boat dock right out back and we dont really want to : This is paradise. Any one have any ideas where we can get it insured ?

I followed the Geico link and they are not insuring mobile homes in Florida.
Have you tried insurance agencies local to your Punta Gorda location? Have you agreed to sky-high deductibles? Does your mortgage company require insurance?
We are self-insured on similar properties, but have no mortgage.

Who insured it before you bought it? May want to try them. Also try, AMIG (American Modern), Foremost, or Diamond States. Also, it may be helpful to find the local investment group (see links at TCI) and network there for help....
