Odd Question About My Parents House
First off I just want to say that I've been lurking for awhile here, and I've learned so much thanks to you guys! I have a weird question. My parents bought their current house in august 2003. The house had been lost during a bankruptcy, and my parents ended up getting a really good price on the house. The previous owners had lots of issues which is apparent by the mail that they are still receiving at my parents address. Here's the weird part. Ever since they've moved in, people are always driving by looking and staring at the house. I was about to turn in the driveway one day, and there was a lady sitting there in her car blocking the driveway, she was staring so hard she didn't even realize I was there and jumped when she finally saw me, then drove off. This morning someone just took a picture of the house and drove off. They didn't see us looking. We're pretty sure whatever is going on doesn't have anything to do with my parents. The property taxes and mortgage payments are all current, there are no liens on the house. Any ideas?
I have had this happen to me, I got my house as a repo. One day I caught some woman and her kid looking in my windows. The property sits on 2 acres with an iron fence and a gated driveway, they hopped over to get a look.
Anyway as it turns out, after I scared the living daylights out of her, with my dog and a baseball bat I found out that the county recorder's office still had the property listed as bank owned and somehow the property was still on MLS.
It was all a big misunderstanding.
It could also be that there are some violations on the property and the picture taker is just the neighborhood busy-body taking photos to give to the inspector. I've seen that happen to a coworker.
In any event, I would worry too much. If they are a bother call the police, or get a big dog and a Louisville Slugger.
