Help! No Money, No Car!

newcreation profile photo

I am the single mother of four kids, struggling to get me REI career kicked off. Now my car has decided it doesn't want to run (it won't shift gears, and it's an automatic), which means major transmission problems. I can't afford to get it fixed, or to get a new car. I have been working hard to get my first deal, but nothing yet. I live way out in the country. What am I going to do now with no car? How can I ever get a deal if I don't have transportation? I had so hoped my car would hold out until I got that first deal, but it hasn't. I don't know what to do, and I'm feeling totally overwhelmed and discouraged. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Contact a great real estate agent and have them help you find your first deal. They will be more than happy to drive you around to check out properties. Don't waste their time, but give them your criteria and they will help.

    Best of luck,

    Andrew,

Interesting that your name is hyundai...that's the make of my car!!!

I have made contact with a buyer's agent who I really liked, so I will keep this in mind. Thanks.

One more thing to consider is bartering. Perhaps there is someone in your area with auto mechanic skills who needs some of the skills you have. Think about the skills and talents you have, then start asking around about an auto mechanic. You might be surprised. If you can figure out how to get your car fixed with no money, then real estate investing will be a piece of cake.

Just an update...I now have a car! I was able to obtain $1000 to put towards a car ( a holdover car until I start making some good money!). It isn't purdy, but it will get me around to check out those deals!
