That would be strange...................here in NC, law enforcement can not give tickets on private property..........not to be confused with public vehicular area..............such as a parking lot etc.

    Is this your private land?

    NC

  • ryand17th February, 2005

yes it is private land. a lot of the time we have to cross powerlines whcih are owned by connecticut light and power and they give a lot of tickets there. what is ironic is that it is cheaper to not register the atv because if you register it you have to pay taxes on it every year and non registration tickets are only 75.00 and its not likely you will get more than 2 a year. thats why i just run away now and they can not catch me. they have nothing better to do and the state pays these guys to run around the woods like clowns chasing people who do no harm. thank you America. i cant wait to move out of this country. oh well

understandable. do you agree that the authoritative systems in the counrty could use extensive reconstruction?

I have the absolutley PERFECT story fo you. My girlfriend and i were out the other night looking at some prospect houses. i pulled into a road and turned around in my Lawyers parking lot because i wanted to check out a house on that road. I notice a Cop sitting across the street in the grave yard taking radar. I was at the stop sign for about 40 seconds (looking for somthing in my car). There were cars more than doubling the speed limit as i sat and watched. I pull out slow and start driving. the COP Rips outs of the grave yard and follows me about 2 feet from my bumber and pulls me over.

He comes up to my car and says "where are you from?" i say "Baltic" he says "what are you doing in Norwich?" i say "what does that matter i have a right to drive where ever i want, i am driving" he says " you have eggs?" i stare him in the face for about 30 seconds because i am so pissed that i am being discriminated against because i look young. he says "ANSWER THE QUESTION!" i says "no i dont have eggs" he says "WHATS IN THAT BAG!" i pick the bag up and open it in front of his face showing him there is nothing in it. "i say search the whole car search me, you will find nothing, what did i do wrong?" i say "im sorry for the attitude but come on" he says "FIRST OF ALL YOU WERE STOPPED A STOP SIGN FOR 5 MINUTES AND DID NOT OBEY THE STOP SIGN WHEN THERE WAS PLENTY OF TIME TO GO!!!! I DONT ACCEPT YOU APOLOGY!" i say i am friends with quite a few Norwich cops and would not do something like that"...By this time i have THREE cops with there lights on behind me like its a huge drug bust. I was lucky to have one of the cops i know show up and he came and talked to me and said dont worry about it and had the other cop write my info down and let me go. by the way i didnt know that stopping at a stop sign was illegal and he claims he could have given me a ticket for it. i looked the laws up n the internet and found nothing that even comes close. It states that i can go when I feel it is safe to do so and he has no right to make judgment for me.

Do you understand where i am coming from a little bit more NC_Yank? This is the kind of BS that gets me going and proves that they have nothing better to do. He doesnt pull the people over who are speeding and pulls people who are actaully doing good for the town. little does he know that i pay taxes in that town and have just as much of a right to be there then he does. So you are telling me that they need 3 cops to handle this problem? It seems like everyday i am alive i hate the country more and more and all the BS that goes on with these terrible systems.

you know, everybody says "we live in the best country blah blah " How many of these people that say this have ever lived in another country? Obviousy every country tells there citizens the same thing. And if it is so great then where is the free health insurance that parts of France get and Canada. This could be a whole other post but that will be for later. [ Edited by ryand on Date 02/21/2005 ]

    Ryand,

Take a chill pill for a bit..............relax,.....deep breath.
Ok , you will be fine.

    Now to answer you questions;

Yes, I realize that GovCo (the government) is a problem.
However you last statement testifies to the fact that is citizens like you that make it a problem.

No where in the constitution does it say GovCo is to take care of us from the craddle to the grave...........that is left wing garbage put out by Hillary Clinton and company.

It is not my responsibility to fork over my hard earned money to pay for welfare and healthcare for everybody and their brother.

GovCo should have limited power...........such as protecting our national interest and security and federal roadways for commerce / military needs............which is what the Interstate are for..............they are primarily for the military, we civialians use them as an added bonus.

The military should not be in the business of humanitarian aid or being the world police. I have served close to 15 years in both the military and law enforcement circles........I konw of what I speak and I have seen the abuses.

It is unfortunate what happened to you.........but your attitude speaks volumes. I have pulled over ministers (had their little cross on their car and bible on dash board) that commited traffic violations. My intentions were to give them a warning and send them on their way. But when a so called minister of God curses me out like a dog telling me about the constitution (which I know more about then 99% of the public) and his "rights being violated"...........what do you think the chances of him getting a "warning" are now...........can you say ZERO.

Officers have to put up with alot of crap.........so when anyone want so smart mouth them............any grace or mercy that was about to be dispensed upon them went out the window.

I have pulled people over doing 65mph in a 35mph zone and gave them a warning for the simple fact they were SINCERE and POLITE. I have had others that commited offenses that normally would have yielded a verbal warning yet, held citations simply because I do not have to put up with some moron telling me Im a racist pig that should be shot. Now some may find that offensive.......but there is verse in the bible that says......." I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion."

Mercy and compassion are dispensed upon those that know what the word "humble" means.

When I was an officer, I was pulled over my the NC State Trooper for speeding. I had several other officers in the truck with me that would have testifed that I was not in fact speeding but going UNDER the limit.

Why did he pull me over..........because I looked like a redneck (had not shaven in two weeks and was wearing shabby clothes)in an old beat up pick up truck who he thought was probably drunk or driving with a revolked license.

I pulled over, had my license and registration in hand and told him I had several firearms, loaded, in the vehicle with me..........and asked how he wanted to handle the situation.

Every statement to him ended with Sir and I showed politeness to him the whole time. I did not have to show him my badge but just act sensible with him.

I knew he was fishing for a drunk driver, drugs or a license violation. He asked to search my vehicle, which I gave permission - nothing to hide,.......................he gave me a verbal warning about speeding (which I apologized for while at the same time not admitting too) and he sent me on my way.

Yes, it took about 15 minutes off my schedule............but, I did not hold a citation - even though I would have beat it in court - and I did not end up making the whole incident unpleasant for all parties involved.

Was he wrong..........yes, would I gain anything by proving him wrong.........other then my sense of pride and wasting more time and money proving it............No.

This same state trooper would later retire early (involved in a bad accident), have me help him get his contractors license and I ended up framing his personal residence.

I have subcontractors that I have written citations in years past that do work for me today. While they did not enjoy getting pulled, warnings and /or citations, they admitted they deserved it and appreciated me helping them get the charges reduced so that it did not effect their insurance, which is the reason most people get upset.....insurance points and all.

As large as this world is.............it becomes very small the longer you live. My advice is to learn to respect those in authority. I didnt say you have to agree with what they do or say but you should respect their office.

Arguing and smarting off at the road side gets you no where. If you get a citation then you can have your day in court...............but to run off at the mouth will not help you one bit.

There were probably 3 officers there because of you being very argumentative. In regards to the egg stuff.............Im sure their supervisor got complaints from citizens who had their property egged. This type of nonsense if done by YOUNG people.............which it sounds like you fell into that category. It was not unreasonable on his part to ask such questions.

I heard the same garabage about "I pay taxes....blah blah blah blah". Making that statement to an officer is the same as saying............"hey officer, you work for me and dont you forget that.........I am your boss."

Here is what the officer is thinking..."you jerk, I can barely feed my kids and wife for what you pay me.........I have been spit on, shot at, cursed at and now have to listen to your mouth over the couple dollars that personally comes out of your pocket.................I dont thinks so bucko".

That is what myself and all my officer buddies thought and said to each other after your types left. (usually with you holding a ticket)

If you read some of my post you will see that I am very much against GovCo and what it has turned into...........but at the same time I put my grievances on paper on Nov. 2 every couple years.

This country is perfect by no means..........but when compared to any country on this planet..................it is head and shoulders above the rest..................which unfortunately makes us a target from every piss ant on the face of this earth.

    regards

again, thank you for the response. I understand everything you say and respect your experience.

Im sorry, i just feel that asking me what i am doing in a certain town is irrelevent to anything he is doing. I felt like saying "what are you doing in this town?" That question really tipped me off.

As you said in the post, they are making little money and are worrying about how they can feed their kids when they get home etc. etc...Just because they are cops does that mean they should be respected more than anybody else? I understand 100% about what you are talking about as far as respect and being able to get out of things. whether i think its right or not is a different story. Yes you are a cop, you risk your life, and you make average wage. that was your decision in life and you do not have to do this. I am a real estate investor. should i be respected less than an authority figure? ( when i brought up paying taxes it had nothing to do with paying a check but my right ot be in the town. Because that wasnt the town i was living in)

I will always stand up for myself and my rights before anything. i have always been that way. If i feel something is wrong i will argue for right. I am not a disrespectful person by any means at all. If you knew me you would probably know me as being a respectful person. although, if i feel i am disrespected and i feel its wrong i will be the same to you.

As far as the army navy thing goes. you may not agree with me on this or maybe you will. Before i went to war for this counrty i would run and move to where ever i could. This is not because i dont care about people or counrties. It is because i am passionate about life and i realize i will only live once. I will not risk my life for some silly war that i had nothing to do with. I dont believe in humans fighting and killing each other and will not support that in any way. I know exactly what you are thinking. you are thinking "well if it wasnt for the people that fought in previous wars you wouldnt be here today and if you were your life would be much different." that may be correct but if i wasnt here i wouldnt know what it was ever like to live and therefore is irrelevent. I would rather live in the woods in the middle of Alaska or some other untouched place before i served and died for anybody.

okay. well we are way off subject and i am glad this forum is not specific because i guess it really doesnt matter. This is not meant to be gears towards you at all yank. I and thankful to have an opion on somebody who has been in these positions.
    thanks, Ryan
