Vending Machines

I am curious what experience folks have had with vending machines. I have a 4-plex with a common area coin-operated laundry. I have room for at least one machine. I was thinking of a combination pop and snack machine. I think two separate machines might be too tight.

Do you think I would be better off buying my own machine or calling a vending company to install their own? Would they install one in only a 4 unit building? What should I expect as a fair % of profits to be returned to me? Buying my own machine might be the way to go, but I am not sure I want to deal with keeping it full. It is one thing to empty the money (could do it at the same time as the washer/dryer) but it is another to haul in and inventory a variety of pops and snacks.

Since you want to put it where they live why would they not pull a soda from their own fridge. You would be better off with an electronic pinball or game. I own a laundromat and they love Pacman or MsPacman. Or Galaga. Just my opinion, because a fourplex...I mean they are not too far from their own apt.

Have you checked Ebay? There are always several in the 300-500 range. Some new , some refurbised; the catch is the shipping (of course there is always a hitch). If you just happened to live near the seller , it would be a good deal to pick up locally. Most seem to be in PA for some reason. It is about convience, most peolple would choose convience over running out to a store to grab a drink when there is nothing left but water. I have met individuals who rearely drink water, only sodas and juice.
