Click the "Shop" tab at the top of the page. Open the property management software page, then download the free trial version of RentRight.

See if you fare any better.

Personally, I just use MicroSoft Excel. It seems to do everything I need it to. I have purchased and installed QuickBooks Pro, but I don't have my Chart of Accounts fully developed yet.

    Hey,

For the record I AM CHEAP. I don't like spending money. I am always trying to find ways to do things cheaper.

    Okay.

I took a quick look at the RentRight information on this website. And it has a lot of interesting functions. And it is pretty cheap at $80, for 10 units.

BUT do you really need it???

If you have one, two or three properties you will get everything you need from Excel.

It seems to me that this software would be great for a property manager., but serious overkill for someone just starting.

I just purchased RentRight because I don't have the Microsoft programs on my computer at home. I like that it has features ONLY pertaining to rental. I just loaded it yesterday and haven't had much time to mess with it, but the booklet is helpful. I think for 80 bucks, it's definitely worth it, especially if you don't know how to do Excel or Quickbooks.

For someone who knows Excel rentrite is probably a waste of money, but for those of us who don't it's, focus on rentals is a big bonus.

By The Way, if you don't have Excel, you will have to buy the Microsoft Office Suite that costs more that $100+

But is the original poster saying that there are issues with "bugs" in the program? Are they accounting problems? Is there any support/developement for the application. I know that a small software like rentrite is bound to have problems, but how bad are they? What have you experienced?

I have onehundred apartments, got the network version 500.00 + 800.00. It came with free support! after the third call they wanted $200.00 more.

Mr. landlord refuned my 500.00 no problem. rent right cancled the access codes on the computer and then refused to credit me. So I am taking them to court.

Wow - some horror stories here about Rent-Right Software. YIKES!!!

I wasn interested and wanted to know if anyone had purchased the module for linking to Quickbooks, and how much that was.

I can't find a telephone number for these Rent-Right Software people. Does anyone have a phone number?

Or should I just plain stay a==away?
    Thanks,
    Marlene
