Please Help - Need Advice

alexlev profile photo

I'm looking to purchase a multi-unit property. The mortgage will cover 75%LTV and the owner will carry 10%, but I need to find the remaining 15%. I have a portion of the funds, but I'm still about $50,000 short. I'd appreciate any suggestions anyone might have on how I might be able to raise this amount. My credit rating is over 700.

if you currently own a property try getting a heloc or refinance for the cash out. Try getting personal line of credit and lastly but the worst...try the old plastic. Also, see if the seller will carry more back so you have less to come up with.

    alexlev,

With a Score of +700 ...you should be able to get loan for more than 75%LTV

....just my thoughts BUT I would be looking for a 80-15-5 or a 80-20 loan.

    Thoughts?

Thanks shizah and Rocky. The heloc is a good idea. I'll look into that. I think I could probably get 80%LTV, but even with the seller carrying 5-10% I'm still going to be quite a bit short. So if anyone has any more ideas, I'm all ears.
