Schlage E-bolt Key Management System
Anyone familiar with this system by schlage that uses electronically controlled access to tenant apartments. I am curious if anyone uses or knows anyone that is using the system. Also what is the price of this system?
The last time I looked at that type of system it was expensive and not worth it. But that was many years ago. It was less than half the cost to go to a master key system rather than use the cards. But if it is a luxury rental then it adds prestige which could help with increasing rental amounts. Roughly 8-10 years ago it was 300 bucks a unit for 10 units, but I am sure it has dropped considerably since then. If you decide to go that route, there are others you can look at as well, that are beginning to pop up. The Retina(eye) reader, thumb and/or hand ID systems are in the same price range and help with the prestige or "cool" features of the place as well. Also by using those devices you dont have to worry about the replacement costs of cards or keys. If you want to be on the brink of technology, the face recognition systems will have the door unlocked and open before you get to the door, but the cost may be higher than regular readers.
