Just A Side Note To The Moderators

We will be adding in more and more features to keep your duties as pain free as possible.

Everybody wants to help out the forums, so we will be adding on some more features in the future to make the moderators job a little easier.

I wanted to put in some other stuff that will allow people to describe what the problems are with the posts they are reporting, and who is doing the reporting. Would that help?? Sometimes, I have no clue what the offense is on the posts. What do you guys think??

yes that would help. Yes, sometimes it's hard to decide what the offense is that their reporting. Sometimes maybe because it's not really an offense or that another moderator has already edited/deleted it. So a brief "what's wrong" question would help.

Sounds good...............but could some of the reported posted be by "disgruntled" members that have been admonished recently................hummm?????

I strongly welcome this feature. For example sometimes I delete duplicate posts. The post themselves are fine -- so there would be no way for anyone to know why it was deleted.

Just a few mins ago I deleted a post that simply said "jer.com". The reason it was deleted was because I checked out the web site and it was trying to solicit business. If you had this feature it would let you know why these items have been removed.

    Joel,

This feature would most certainly help. In fact, I think this should be mandatory to put a 1 or 2 line comment along with a timestamp when moderator edit / deletes the post.

What would also help is to see who has originated a request for the post review. On many occasions clarification may be required on what one thinks is wrong with the post.

    Regards,

    Dmitry.

Agreed, excellant idea, just knowing who clicked the link would be great. This way we can ask them if there is any question as to what the offense is, and kick em in the shins if they click it 5 times.

I agree that for several reasons, we should know who clicked the "report this post" button. I didn't realize until very recently that it was anonymous.
