How Much To Move A Mobile Home?

houses2 profile photo

I acquired 2 acres in Cleveland County OK through a tax sale (I live in the Los Angeles area). There is an old beat-up mobile home there now (probably uninhabitable). I want to improve the property and sell for cash.

I've been reading some great posts here about repo MHs; how much does it cost to move one?

I may want to break up the lot into two acres, and place a MH on the second (to sell).

Also, I read about a business (in Irvine, CA?) where you can execute an action similar to a 'quiet title', but faster and cheaper.

Can anyone help with these questions? Thank you.

    Lets see,

A Quit Title Action. Requires a filing fee of about $80. The cost of the paper, the attempt to serve followed by publication if you cannot serve. You show up in court. Show the paper work of the attempts to serve and the advertising. They give you the Judgement and that is that.

I would be interested in anything cheaper. Is there a way to do it by some other method. Teach me Teach me I want to learn.

Did they start a discount Superior Court?
Is there some sort of Judicial District formed that ignores the United States of America and has gone back to Bear Flag and screw Mexico it is ours cause we are here. Damn, include me in.

Now find out and let me know. I am champing at the bit.

    Hey Lucius,

Thanks for the quick reply, this site is great.

It's not a quit title, but a quiet title. When you acquire a deed through tax lein certificate, you can't get title insurance for one year. But you can execute a quiet title using a lawyer, but it takes (up to six?) months.

On a conference call, someone mentioned about a company in Orange County that will do the same thing for about $500 in four to six weeks. That's what I was asking about.

There is a place in Costa Mesa called "Tax Title Services" that will insure a tax deed--I think this is what you are talking about anyway right? getting title insurance on a tax deed without waiting a year or doing a quiet title action?--anyhow, if you do a search in Google for exactly what I put in quotes above, it should be numero uno. However, I think their base fee is close to $700 depending on the insurance amount.
    Hope that helps.

As far as moving the mobile home you may be able to give it to a junk dealer who will move it away free. Otherwise it could cost from $500.00 to $1,500.00 to move the trailer.

pratgoel, thanks! Thats the place. Went to their website and unfortunately they don't work in Oklahoma.

    Any Ideas?

    MichaelChandler,

    Thanks for the moving information.

    To Pratgoel and interested parties,

the group at Tax Title Services in Costa Mesa (google it) didn't have Oklahoma services listed on their site, but the guy said Oklahoma is included, and they need to update their site.

Tax Title Services provides a cheaper, faster alternative to a Quiet Title action for properties obtained through the tax lein process.

Note: I have no interest in the comapny at all, just need to sell a property in OK.
