Second Home Rider Clause And Rental

rjo1 profile photo
Hi! I just bought a home in AZ, as a 2nd home. The lender attached a document which is the "second home rider". After 2 weeks of escrow, I noticed this doc in the huge bunch of docs, and was surprised. It mentions "Borrower shall occupy, and shall only use, the Property as Borrower’s second home. Borrower shall keep the Property available for Borrower’s exclusive use and ..... not rent the property". Now I would like to rent the property for 6 months. I was wondering if it is OK to do that as I do not want the Lender to call the loan. I also will most likely have to change the Insurance from Homeowners to Rental Dwelling, and so lender may find out that it is now a rental. What is the chance of the Lender taking a look at the new Insurance and recalling the Loan as due. What can I do? Thanks.... :-(
