WI State Tax Lien Questions

rpm profile photo

I am looking at purchasing a land contract from someone and the party that entered into the land contract is in default with the current land contract holder with state tax liens.

Can I buy the land contract and foreclose on it and get the property free and clear without the state tax liens? Thanks

    Commercialking is correct.
Property Tax liens are quite possibly the most senior lien there is. Therefore foreclosing on a junior lien (the CFD) will not wipe them out., The tax liens will remain in place, and attached to the property.
