Property Tax Question

Hello,

I will be purchasing my Aunt's home out of a Sheriffs Foreclosure sale. She will still live in the home. Her Taxes are $1400 per year, If I registered the property in my name only by QCD and register with the County Treasurer, the taxes will Jump to $3,400.

Question: Is it legal to QCD to add my name to the deed along with hers and not register with the County Treasurer so the Property Taxes would not go up?

The home is in Detroit, Mi

    Please explain QDC In my area taxes are tied to apprasial value and unless you make major changes to property after sale taxes stay about the same

    Sorry I meant to type QCD "Quit Claim Deed"

    I need to remove my Uncle, keep my Aunt and Add myself and my wife to the Deed.

    I need to keep my aunt because my only purpose of buying the house is so she will have a place to live. Her credit is shot so there's no way of getting her a mortgage.

    I need my name on the deed just so I have a way of recouping my $40k incase she decides to sell or heaven forbids dies.
