A credit card company has contacted my brother stating that they are putting a judgment on his home. My parents also have a lien on the house for $25,000. What is the process of the judgement for my brother and my parents. What can happen?

Help!!

    Who owns the house?
In NC they are supposed to give an exemption form, in which you can exempt some items from judgement.

Have him check this out. Most credit cards are unsecured.

A lien is placed when a secured credit or some that won a money judgement in court was to make sure you pay.

So they put a lien on the property. The property basically can't be sold or refi'ed w/o get the judgment creditor's permission.
