Probate Lead

A Homeowner called me back and left me a voicemail stating that her,

" property is already in the foreclosure process and is currently going through probate. IT's too late to do anything, but if you have questions call me."

Unfortunately, this is all she said and I have not been able to get in touch with her yet. She is supposed to get home today and I would like to have an understanding of what she is talking about.

I searched through all of the probate posts and found some valuable information. However, I did not find any information that would answer the following question:

Is there a stage in the probate process where it is too late to do anything?

I do realize that this is a very general question, but I this is all I have to work with.

Thank you all in advanced.

Are we mixing apples and oranges here?

Probate has nothing to do with foreclosure, and is the process for transferring title after someone dies.

With FC, yes, there is a date beyond which the forecloseee (F'ee) has no more rights...but since in NY, a foreclosure is by court Judgment, the F'ee has lots of opportunity, over several years, to cure and pay up.

With probate, nothing drastic has happened, and the debtor just has to redirect his payments to new heir/owner.
